The Heated Eye Pad ophthalmic warmer is a powered heating pad for the application of localized heat therapy. There are multiple differences. The other solutions have 4 flaws from our perspective;
1) They are either too hot or too cold.
2) They don’t stay at a constant temperature over time, and
3) They do not concentrate the warmth on the eyelid, they heat the entire eye socket and surrounding area.
4) They are a hassle because of flaws 1-3, so people do not warm their eyelids the proper amount of times for the proper amount of minutes.
The Heated Eye Mask warms the meibomian glands inside your eyelids to ideally decrease the viscosity of your tears.

No. The meibomian glands that benefit from elevated temperature are located inside your eyelids. The heat will reach the glands. Water from a wet warm compress does not go through your skin to the glands, but rather the heat from the wet warm compress goes through your skin. We encourage you to wet, wash, and clean the eyelid margins per your doctors instructions AFTER warming the meibomian glands.
