Initially after graduating I worked at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital for several years. I then moved to private practice but continued to work for the paediatric optical department at Booth Hall Hospital and also at clinics in North Manchester. In the 1990's I started to do on-site Industrial work, being responsible for the eyecare of employees of various corporate industries, banks and factories in the North West. In addition I provided domicilary services for Care Homes, Detention Centres and Hospital Units. In 2001 I started working for a large optical multiple. Initially I was involved in staff training and setting up new practices, I then went on to become the resident optometrist in Bolton where I continued working until recently. During my time there I worked as part of the Bolton Children's Eyecare Team and was in involved in the Royal Bolton Hospital cataract referral scheme.
I have always had an interest in dry eye conditions, which affects so many people, and I am excited to now be a part of The Dry Eye Clinic and be able to diagnose and treat patients using the latest technology.
